Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist for a Child Primary Care Team based in Clondalkin Primary Care Centre, providing early intervention supports to children, young people and their families.
This is a frontline, community-based role where you will work as part of a well-established multidisciplinary team, with strong access to Senior Psychologists for structured supervision, consultation and support. The service is family-centred, inclusive and evidence-based, with a focus on practical outcomes for children and caregivers.

Role Summary:
As a Staff Grade Clinical Psychologist within a Child Primary Care service, you will provide timely assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention for children and young people, working closely with parents/carers and the multidisciplinary team. You will be well supported through structured supervision and consultation with Senior Psychologists. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday role on a 1-year contract with a strong likelihood of extension (service need dependent).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to children and young people presenting with a range of emotional, behavioural and developmental needs (e.g., anxiety, ADHD, autism-related needs, attachment and school/family difficulties).
- Develop evidence-informed, child-centred plans in collaboration with children, families and MDT colleagues.
- Deliver individual and group-based interventions, drawing on appropriate therapeutic models and outcome measures.
- Provide consultation and practical guidance to parents/carers and relevant professionals involved in the child's care.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision (including with Senior Psychologists), reflective practice and continuous professional development.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and psychologically informed MDT working.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology and/or Chartered Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist through PSI.
- Candidates qualified overseas must provide evidence of validation by the Department of Health at the time of application.
- Eligibility for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
- Demonstrable knowledge of a range of Psychological assessment and therapeutic models
- Experience delivering psychological interventions to children and families
- Excellent clinical assessment, formulation, and therapeutic planning skills
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
- Full driver's license and access to a car.
