Social Care Worker – Under-18s Residential Services

Locations: Dalkey, Dublin City Centre & Templeogue

Salary: €37,604 – €41,997 depending on experience

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, Ireland's leading not-for-profit working to prevent people becoming, remaining or returning to homelessness, is seeking committed and compassionate Social Care Workers to join their Under-18 Residential Services in Dublin. These services support young people aged 15–18 who are out of home and experiencing crisis. Working within a short-term residential setting, you will be part of a dedicated team providing safety, stability, and encouragement as young people take their first steps toward a brighter future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a residential care team within established policies and procedures.
  • Act as Key Worker for allocated young people, coordinating with external agencies as required.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and recording of care and placement plans.
  • Support young people who have experienced trauma and/or display challenging behaviour.
  • Advocate for young people around education, aftercare, legal rights, health, and wellbeing.
  • Promote the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual welfare of each young person.
  • Encourage participation of young people in decisions affecting their lives.
  • Liaise with families, social workers, and other relevant professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with statutory and health & safety requirements.
  • Attend team meetings, reviews, and training sessions.
  • Support organisational policies and contribute to ongoing service development.
  • Participate in a full 7‑day, 24‑hour roster.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree‑level qualification in Social Care, Youth Work, Social Studies, Psychology, Addiction Studies, or related field OR registration as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Direct experience working in a social care environment.
  • Experience supporting marginalised groups, ideally adolescents.
  • Knowledge of issues impacting young people (e.g., trauma, attachment, substance misuse).
  • Ability to support young people in crisis using best‑practice approaches.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and national residential care standards.
  • Experience with key working, assessment, and care planning.
  • Excellent report writing and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) model.
  • Valid working rights for Ireland (sponsorship not available)
