Senior Radiographer Sonographer (Locum)

Position: Senior Radiographer Sonographer

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Sonographer/Radiographer looking to take on a senior clinical role within a professional and patient-focused environment.

Key Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be registered on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.

• Have a minimum of 3 years’ full-time post-qualification clinical experience, or an aggregate of 3 years’ relevant clinical experience.

• Be resident in Ireland.

• Hold one of the following immigration permissions/statuses:

  • EU Passport, Stamp 1G, Stamp 2, Stamp 4, Stamp 4D, Stamp 5, Stamp 4 EUFam

• Be willing to undergo Garda Vetting.

• Provide International Police Clearance if you have lived outside Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Organise, supervise and perform ultrasound examinations in accordance with relevant protocols and guidelines.

• Supervise other staff members, where appropriate, and provide clinical support and guidance.

• Assist with the daily operational management of the Radiology service.

• Maintain consistently high standards of patient care, clinical technique and patient safety.

• Keep up to date with current techniques, technologies and developments within ultrasound and radiology, particularly in relation to PACS and IT systems.

• Assist with the education and training of staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and encourage professional development.

• Adhere to all Health & Safety Guidelines, as well as Whole Hospital and Departmental Policies, Procedures and Guidelines (PPGs).

• Identify equipment faults, errors or defects and promptly report all issues to the Clinical Specialist Radiographer or Radiography Service Manager.

• Participate in Clinical Audit and Quality Improvement Programmes as required.

• Attend relevant postgraduate courses and undertake or assist with research projects.

• Adhere to the professional guidelines laid down by the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists (IIRRT).

• Perform any other duties within the Radiology Department or its satellite services as deemed appropriate to the grade by the Radiography Service Manager.

• Deputise for a Clinical Specialist Radiographer when required.
