Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist - Rehabilitation
Location: Rathfarnham, Dublin
Salary: €65,000-€75,000 DOE + excellent benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

This permanent role is based in Rathfarnham, Dublin, with some travel across another nearby site within easy reach.

This employer has over two decades of experience and a growing portfolio of specialist rehabilitation and residential services, the organisation continues to develop innovative models of care to support residents and patients with diverse and complex needs.

The successful candidate: You will support high-quality rehabilitation services for residents and patients with a wide range of needs, including those recovering from ABI, stroke, and complex medical events.

Role:

  • Responsible for managing own caseload and for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/ intervention programmes for service users according to service standards
  • Assessments to include but are not limited to seating assessments, complete functional assessments, complete hand assessments, cognitive assessments and recommendations on environmental layout.
  • Collaborate with service users, family, carers and other staff in treatment/intervention planning and in the provision of support and advice.
  • Plan discharge or transition of the service user between services as appropriate.
  • Ensure the quality of documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports and discharge summaries are in accordance with professional standards
  • Be involved in service planning and development by anticipating the changing needs of the service and service users for the inpatient service
  • Demonstrate a commitment to research and evidence-based practice, identifying and contributing to research, clinical evaluation and audit opportunities
  • Arrange and carry out duties in a timely manner within settings appropriate to service users' needs and in line with local policy/guidelines. Attend review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc.
  • Maintain quality standards of practice and participate in quality assurance and clinical audits as appropriate.
  • Be responsible for adhering to existing standards and protocols and for leading out on the development and maintenance of standards/strategies for quality improvement and outcome measurement

Requirements:

  • CORU-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum 2+ years post-qualification experience, ideally including work with older people, stroke, dementia, or post-acute rehabilitation.
  • Confidence in handling complex discharges, cognitive assessments, and assistive technologies.
  • Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills, with a collaborative, MDT-driven approach.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.

Eligibility criteria:

  • CORU-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • 2 year minimum, post-graduate experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and MDT collaboration skills.
  • Full, clean Irish driving licence and access to a car
  • Previous experience in a nursing home, residential, or step-down setting is a distinct advantage.
