Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Medical Scientist specialising in Haematology to join their dynamic laboratory team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of diseases through the examination of tissue samples, contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• This role involves day-to-day operations and management of the Haematology Laboratory.
• Processing of samples (routine and urgent)
• Quality activities relevant to ISO 15189 laboratory accreditation and Joint Commission International (JCI)-hospital wide accreditation
• Introduction/ repatriation of tests including verification
• Achieve compliance with INAB Accreditation standards and associated quality activities.
• Prioritise and organise work during busy periods and co-ordinate multiple concurrent testing.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably within a hospital setting.
• MSc in relevant field of Biomedical Science.
• CORU Registered
• Strong understanding of laboratory quality management systems and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 15189).
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in Morphology
