Psychologist / Assistant Psychologist – Temporary, Project-Based Role

Clontarf, Dublin | HSE Pay Scales

We are currently seeking Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists to join a temporary, project-based initiative based in Clontarf, Dublin, with some activity across nearby satellite services.

There may also be occasional requirements to work from CRC locations in Hartstown, Ongar and Firhouse.

This is an exciting opportunity for Psychology professionals who are passionate about supporting adults with disabilities to achieve meaningful outcomes, exercise choice and increase their participation and inclusion within their communities.

About the Role

The role will involve engaging with adults with disabilities to understand their individual circumstances, aspirations, strengths, support needs and future goals.

Assessments will be pre-arranged and coordinated by CRC, with a strong focus on person-centred engagement, meaningful conversations and gathering information that reflects the individual's own experiences, preferences and aspirations.

The assessment process will focus on:

  • Individual life aspirations and future goals
  • Community participation and inclusion
  • Supports required to achieve meaningful outcomes
  • Identification of unmet needs and opportunities for development
  • Understanding an individual's strengths, abilities, preferences and support requirements
  • Supporting a rights-based and person-centred approach to service delivery

The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in candidates who:

  • Share CRC's values of person-centredness, respect, collaboration, courage, quality and stewardship
  • Have experience working with adults with disabilities
  • Understand the principles of New Directions and rights-based service delivery
  • Are confident in gathering meaningful information from adults with diverse communication needs
  • Can establish positive, trusting and respectful relationships with individuals
  • Demonstrate a progressive and strengths-based approach to disability support
  • Are committed to promoting independence, choice, inclusion and meaningful participation

Key Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold a relevant Psychology qualification/Doctorate
  • Membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI)
  • For Assistant Psychologists, meet the relevant qualification and experience requirements for the role
  • Have experience or a strong interest in working with adults with disabilities
  • Have a full driving licence and access to a car
  • Be resident in Ireland and hold one of the following immigration permissions/statuses:
    • EU Passport
    • Stamp 1G
    • Stamp 2
    • Stamp 4
    • Stamp 4D
    • Stamp 5
    • 4 EUFam
  • Be willing to undergo Garda Vetting
  • Provide International Police Clearance if they have lived outside Ireland for more than 6 months after the age of 16
