Cpl Healthcare in partnership with our client a non-profit organisation based in Dublin, Ireland that provides services for people who are homeless and people at risk of homelessness in Ireland.

Project Workers deliver advice, advocacy, and practical support to individuals and families, addressing both immediate housing needs and the wider issues that contribute to homelessness. This includes helping people access accommodation, understand their rights, and develop the skills needed to maintain long‑term housing.

MAIN DUTIES AND METHODOLOGY

  • To work within the framework of the overall objectives and values of Focus Ireland
  • To work within the overall policies and procedures of Focus Ireland, inclusive of Health and Safety Policy and ensure their implementation
  • To establish trusting relationships with customers are homeless or at risk of homelessness and engage them in work that enables them to move to a more stable lifestyle.
  • To carry a designated case load where applicable.
  • To undertake assessments and support planning with customers as the lead agent using a Case Management system, protocols and other tools when necessary.
  • To support customers with their welfare rights and entitlements, training/employment, housing, and to access move on accommodation appropriate to their needs.
  • To provide Advice, Information and Guidance as a prevention or in response to being out of home. Ensure appropriate referrals to accommodation sustainment services, and other visiting support services appropriate to their needs, to ensure the viability of their long-term tenancy.
  • To develop and maintain professional links with other agencies and services that may offer services to customers. This includes developing links and relationships with housing providers, Local Authorities and private landlords and agents.
  • To accompany and provide support to customers on appointments to other services where necessary i.e. doctors, counsellors, court, property viewings etc.
  • To be responsible for keeping up to date casework records, daily logs and written assessments. Inputting information on the Focus Ireland Database systems
  • To work in close liaison and co-operation with other teams within Focus Ireland, and other statutory and voluntary agencies as appropriate.
  • To attend Team, Section, Agency and external agency’s meetings and training as required
  • To meet regularly for supervision in line with policy
  • To attend Reflective Practice group with your assigned grouping
  • In conjunction with your Line Manager continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner to meet the strategic aims and objectives of the Focus Ireland.
  • In consultation, to undertake any other responsibilities and duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Project Leader, Manager or Director of Services.

Essential criteria

  • A Third Level qualification at degree level in social care i.e., youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology etc.
  • OR proven CORU registration.
  • 1-2 year’s direct experience in the social care field working with disadvantaged customers.
  • Relevant experience of dealing with high risk and challenging behaviour.
  • Relevant experience of working in a team which shares a common goal.
  • Ability to cope with and manage lone working including out of hours’ work where necessary.

Desirable criteria

  • A working knowledge of services in the homeless sector.
  • An awareness of child protection issues and ways of responding appropriately to any concerns.
  • An awareness of a trauma informed approach to working with vulnerable populations.
  • Full, driving license and access to own car.

Salary range

  • €37,600 per year
