About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Locum Basic Grade Medical Scientist to join a busy laboratory team based in Dublin 4, working within the Standard Microbiology department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Medical Scientist to gain valuable experience in a clinical laboratory environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services and patient care.

Key Requirements

• A Level 8 Honours Degree in Medical Science or Biomedical Science approved by CORU.
• Applicants must be resident in Ireland and hold one of the following valid immigration permissions or travel documents:
• EU Passport
• Stamp 1G
• Stamp 2
• Stamp 4
• Stamp 4D
• Stamp 5
• Stamp 4 EUFam
• Successful candidates must be willing to undergo Garda Vetting.
• International Police Clearance will be required if you have lived outside Ireland for more than six months after the age of 16.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological investigations in accordance with established laboratory procedures and protocols.

• Assist with the processing and analysis of clinical specimens.

• Ensure accurate documentation, recording and reporting of laboratory results.

• Maintain high standards of quality control, health and safety, and infection prevention.

• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary laboratory team.

• Adhere to laboratory policies, procedures and relevant professional standards.
