This is an opportunity for an accomplished clinical leader to provide strategic, professional and operational direction for a highly regarded healthcare organisation with a strong reputation for specialist mental health services.
The organisation is an established independent acute mental health teaching hospital based in Dublin, with a longstanding reputation for excellence in specialist mental health care, clinical education and research. It provides inpatient and specialist services across areas including addictions, psychosis, eating disorders, mood disorders, psychiatry of later life and adolescent mental health, supported by strong academic affiliations and a commitment to the highest standards of governance, quality and patient care.
The Appointment
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Clinical Director will hold a pivotal position within the senior leadership structure of the Hospital and will contribute as a member of the Management Team. The appointee will provide strategic and operational leadership across multidisciplinary clinical services and will be responsible for advancing clinical governance, patient safety, service quality, regulatory compliance, teaching, research and strategic service development.
Candidate Requirements:
- Candidates will be registered on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Specialists for psychiatry maintained by the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- Demonstrable substantial senior clinical leadership experience, including the management of multidisciplinary teams and the development of high-quality services.
- The successful appointee will bring sound judgement, strategic insight, professional credibility and a proven capacity to lead within a complex healthcare environment.
- Strong experience in clinical governance, regulatory compliance, patient safety, organisational change and stakeholder engagement will be essential.
Terms of Appointment
Location: Dublin, Ireland, and associated current and future work locations.
Term: Five-year appointment, renewable by agreement.
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer or designated nominee.
