About the Role

On behalf of a leading community care and support provider in County Meath, Akeso is seeking a compassionate Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist CAMHS for a part-time position (1 day per week onsite). You will play a vital role in evaluating, diagnosing, and supporting young people facing emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric challenges within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents.

• Diagnosis & Treatment: Develop personalized treatment plans, including therapeutic interventions and medication management.

• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and educators to deliver holistic care.

• Family Support: Educate and guide parents/caregivers on managing psychiatric conditions and coping strategies.

• Crisis Intervention: Provide emergency psychiatric care and assessment when required.

Essential Criteria

• Irish experience and specialist qualification and completion of training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

• Active registration/licensure with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) (or full eligibility).

• Valid work authorization / right to work in Ireland.

• Strong background in pediatric psychopharmacology and therapy techniques suited for young patients.

• Excellent communication and interprofessional collaboration skills.
