
Assistant Director of Nursing
Excel Healthcare Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant Director of Nursing to join a 64-bed healthcare unit supporting patients transitioning from Beaumont Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong and experienced nursing professional to take on a senior leadership role within a transitional care setting. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in acute or transitional care and will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the unit.

Contract: Full-Time
Role Overview: The Assistant Director of Nursing will play a key role in supporting the clinical and operational management of this 64-bed unit. The service primarily cares for patients transitioning from Beaumont Hospital, and the successful candidate will work closely with the nursing and wider healthcare team to ensure high standards of safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the overall clinical and operational management of the 64-bed unit
- Provide strong leadership and support to the nursing and healthcare team
- Ensure consistently high standards of patient care and clinical practice
- Support the safe transition and ongoing care of patients transferring from an acute hospital setting
- Promote a positive, professional and patient-centred culture across the service
- Support clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management initiatives
- Ensure nursing practices are delivered in line with relevant policies, procedures and professional standards
- Provide guidance, mentorship and support to nursing staff
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes
Essential Requirements:
- Registered General Nurse with active NMBI registration
- Strong nursing experience with proven leadership capabilities
- Previous management or senior nursing experience
- Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills
- Strong commitment to delivering high standards of patient care
- Ability to lead and support a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Acute hospital or transitional care experience is highly desirable
Salary range
- €60,000 - €65,000 per year
