Job: Staff Grade Physiotherapist (Older Person Rehabilitation)

Location: Limerick, Ireland

Job Type: Part-time Agency Contract (0.5 WTE)

Duration: 3 Months, possible extension

Salary: HSE Pay Scale Applies

Excel Recruitment is seeking a motivated and compassionate Physiotherapist to join a highly regarded team at an Older Persons Rehabilitation Hospital in Limerick. This is a 0.5 WTE (17.5 hours per week) agency contract for an initial duration of 3 months, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Staff Grade Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation process for older adults, focusing on restoring movement, function, and independence.

  • Conduct comprehensive Physiotherapy assessments and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on mobility, strength, and falls prevention.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions in both individual and group settings to address physical and functional needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) regarding patient progress, goal setting, and treatment reviews.
  • Support discharge planning by providing mobility aid recommendations and caregiver education to ensure a safe transition home.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation in accordance with CORU and professional standards.
  • Promote active aging and provide education to patients and families on safety and rehabilitation strategies.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Full CORU Registration (Physiotherapists Registration Board).
  • While experience in elderly care or rehabilitation is desirable, we welcome applications from enthusiastic new graduates.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
  • HSE mandatory training (or willingness to complete prior to commencement).
