We are currently seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Medical Secretary for a well-established Private Practice in Limerick.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a supportive team in a rewarding administrative role. The role offers great flexibility and a competitive salary.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage outpatient clinics, including appointment booking, patient check-in, and clinic administration.
  • Coordinate theatre and cath lab bookings with hospital teams and maintain efficient schedules.
  • Triage referrals and prioritise patients for clinics and procedures.
  • Handle patient enquiries, phone calls, emails, and correspondence professionally.
  • Request and manage external medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Complete medical dictation, reports, and distribute correspondence to GPs and consultants.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records and filing systems.
  • Process billing, insurance claims, and update patient information on the Medserv database.

Key Requirements

  • Medical secretarial qualification.
  • At least 3 years' medical secretary experience.
  • Strong audio typing and MS Office skills.
  • Experience with patient management systems (Medserv preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical billing and health insurance processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information in line with GDPR
