Job Title: Staff Grade Psychologist - Paediatric Primary Care
Location:
Monaghan or Cavan Town
Contract Type:

Excel Recruitment is recruiting a Staff Grade Psychologist on behalf of a Paediatric Primary Care team, with the base in Monaghan or Cavan Town.

This Primary Care team is at the heart of early intervention, delivering compassionate, evidence-based psychological supports to children and young people in a warm, inclusive, and family-centred environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming, multidisciplinary team where you will benefit from peer support, regular clinical supervision, and the chance to play a meaningful role in improving outcomes for children and young people in the local community.

As a Clinical Psychologist, you will:

  • Join a welcoming, child-centred team with a strong focus on family involvement.
  • Be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
  • Have regular supervision, CPD support, and peer learning.
  • Contribute to early intervention and life-changing outcomes for children aged 0-18 with a range of developmental needs.
  • Carry out comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored intervention plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies for children with neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and sensory or emotional needs.
  • Contribute to Individual Family Support Plans (IFSPs) and provide guidance to families.
  • Offer psychoeducation, counselling, and care planning to empower caregivers.
  • Take part in MDT case discussions, joint sessions, and service development initiatives.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation in line with professional standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology and/or Chartered Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist through PSI.
  • Candidates qualified overseas must provide evidence of validation by the Department of Health at the time of application.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of a range of Psychological assessment and therapeutic models
  • Experience delivering psychological interventions to children and families
  • Excellent clinical assessment, formulation, and therapeutic planning skills
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
