Senior Social Worker – Adults Disabilities Service – GalwaySocial Worker, Senior required for a permanent position with our client, an organization providing a wide range of services to adults and children with intellectual disability and autism across Galway City and Count including day, residential, short breaks, respite, community supports, rehabilitative training and multi-disciplinary supports.&nbsp;&nbsp;The role will involve working with adults from 18 – 65+ years requiring low to high support and/or complex needs.As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for:<ul><li>Providing assessment, interventions and proactively providing personal and educational input into person centred program planning.</li><li>Empowering service users to advocate for themselves where appropriate</li><li>Support the Head of Social Work by taking on additional delegated responsibilities where appropriate, ensuring continuity of service and departmental leadership.</li><li>Supervise and support other social workers, students, and staff as required, ensuring adherence to professional standards and best practice.</li><li>Lead and contribute to safeguarding processes, including chairing or supporting case discussions, completing assessments, and liaising with Designated Officers and statutory bodies.</li><li>Undertake project work, service development initiatives, or represent the department at internal and external meetings as delegated by the Head of Social Work.</li></ul>This role will be a mix of working across residential and day centres and will also involve some outreach to adults living at home.Interested candidates will have the following:<ul><li>A recognised professional qualification in Social Work and CORU registration</li><li>Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally within disability, safeguarding, or related social work settings.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage complex casework and make evidence-based professional decisions.</li><li>Proven experience of supervising, mentoring, or supporting colleagues within a professional setting.</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands, take initiative, and reliably follow through on delegated tasks.</li><li>Flexibility and resilience to take on additional responsibilities as directed, including deputising for the Head of Social Work when required, in line with professional competence and organisational needs.</li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills, with the ability to represent the Social Work Department at internal and external forums.</li><li>Full current driving licence with access to own vehicle</li></ul>For further information and a full job description, please email your c.v. to <a href="mailto:brian.murray@cplhealthcare.com" target="_blank">brian.murray@cplhealthcare.com</a> or call Brian in confidence on 01 482 5352 / 087 222 6752
