Salary reflected is for 24hours per week, pro rata.&nbsp;Parking provided.Key Responsibilities:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assessment of patients independently in a nurse delivered clinic under the supervision of the consultant cardiologist in the Cork Clinic, Western Road.&nbsp;These will be general cardiology patients with conditions including heart failure, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The Nurse will be required to work autonomously in providing specialist assessment, advice and management for patients with general cardiology conditions who present to the clinic.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Apply blood pressure and Holter monitors to patients and perform ECGs.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Occasionally perform phlebotomy if required.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist with ward rounds when necessary in the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Communicate effectively with patients, their families and General Practitioners in the management of patients.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist in working up patients for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and left atrial appendage occlusion.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist with discharge letters and typing clinic notes.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Provide continuous support and guidance to patients and their families throughout their cardiac investigations and interventional procedures.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist consultants in assessing and caring for cardiology patients, facilitating seamless coordination with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).Requirements:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Registered General Nurse (NMBI) with a Midwife Board qualification.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Preferably holds a Post-Graduate qualification in a related field.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Possesses a minimum of three years' recent acute care experience in cardiac nursing practice, with at least two years in the advanced practice role of Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience at CNM1 or CNM2 level essential.Competencies:·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Excellent communication skills.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to work independently and expand the nurse led cardiology clinic under the supervision of the Consultant Cardiologist.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Organise and co-ordinate patients appointments for the clinic and testing. Secretarial support will be provided.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Should have excellent IT and typing skills and be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. Full training will be given how to use the medical software,&nbsp;iMedDoc.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strong proficiency in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation within the realm of cardiology.·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Demonstrated clinical skills, coupled with a passion for ongoing education and research.·&nbsp;
