Location: North Dublin
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent role, 35 hour working week
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading Transitional Care Unit in North Dublin to recruit a Therapy Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team, providing essential assistance to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality therapy services to patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver an effective and efficient physiotherapy assistance service on an inpatient basis.
• Assist in transferring patients to and from therapy sessions.
• Prepare treatment areas, including gym and rehab setup.
• Support therapists during patient assessments by assisting with movement, positioning, and stabilisation.
• Provide assistance during treatment interventions, particularly where two or more therapists are required.
• Carry out prescribed exercise programmes with patients and document all interventions accurately.
• Mobilise patients and maintain detailed records of progress.
• Perform passive range of motion and assisted movement exercises.
• Maintain and monitor therapy consumables and equipment.
• Foster open communication and a strong working relationship with supervising therapists.
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Adhere to confidentiality and patient information management standards.
• Provide personal care assistance to patients as required.

Essential Requirements:

• Relevant 3rd Level Qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Post Injury Therapy, Rehabilitation, or equivalent.
• 1-2 years' experience in a similar role.
• In the process of obtaining CORU registration (desirable)
• Compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Therapy techniques, patient safety, and infection control.
• Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
