Supervising Pharmacist South Dublin (New)

As a Supervising Pharmacist with a focus on Nursing Home services, you are the clinical lead responsible for the safe and effective management of medications for some of the most vulnerable patients. This role bridges the gap between primary care, the pharmacy, and the nursing home facility.

Job Summary

The Supervising Pharmacist leads a multidisciplinary pharmacy team to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care to nursing home residents. You will oversee clinical governance, provide expert medicines advice to care home staff, and lead medication review programs to reduce polypharmacy and enhance resident safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership & Supervision: Manage and mentor a team of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring all staff meet professional standards and complete required appraisals.
• Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs): Lead the delivery of annual SMRs for nursing home residents, focusing on polypharmacy, deprescribing, and geriatric-specific care such as dementia management.
• Clinical Governance: Ensure compliance with CQC standards and local medicines legislation. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safe handling and administration of medicines.
