We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate doctor to join a well-established healthcare team providing medical care within residential care home settings across North Dublin. The Role
Working closely with nursing home teams, residents, families, and allied healthcare professionals, you will provide comprehensive medical care to an elderly patient population with complex health needs, multiple co-morbidities, and chronic illnesses.
You will play a key role in supporting proactive healthcare management, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions, and ensuring residents receive person-centred care that enhances their wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality medical care to residents in nursing home and residential care settings.
- Manage complex and co-morbid illnesses in an elderly population.
- Conduct clinical assessments, reviews, and care planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise resident outcomes.
- Support advance care planning and end-of-life care where appropriate.
- Promote best practice in geriatric medicine and chronic disease management.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to care home teams.
Essential Requirements
- Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council in the Division of General Practice.
- Experienced doctors on the General Register may also be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a GP in Ireland or UK.
- Demonstrated passion for and commitment to the care of older persons.
- Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to commence employment in January 2027.
Desirable
- Experience working within nursing homes, residential care facilities, community care, or geriatric services.
- Additional qualifications or training in Geriatric Medicine, Palliative Care, or Care of the Elderly.
- Experience managing complex chronic disease, frailty, and multi-morbidity.

Salary range
