
Social Care Worker ( Childrens Residential )
We are currently recruiting for Social Care Workers to join our expanding team across our Children’s Mainstream Residential Care Homes,

You will work closely with young people in both residential settings and aftercare services, supporting them in building independence, developing life skills, and achieving positive long-term outcomes.

Key ResponsibilitiesCare & Support
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in line with individual care plans
- Support young people with daily living skills, routines, and personal development
- Promote independence through practical supports such as budgeting, cooking, education, and employment guidance
- Provide consistent emotional and behavioural support
- Build positive, professional relationships and act as a strong role model
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all young people in line with safeguarding and child protection standards
- Work in line with all relevant legislation, HIQA standards, and organisational policies
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional records and reports
- Contribute to risk assessments and care planning processes
Team & Multi-Agency Working
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Liaise effectively with social workers, families, and external professionals
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, reviews, and handovers
- Engage in regular supervision and continuous professional development
Service Delivery
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
- Support consistent routines, boundaries, and positive outcomes
- Assist in the ongoing development and improvement of the service
- Participate in all mandatory and additional training as required
What We’re Looking For
- A recognised qualification in Social Care or a related discipline (minimum Level 7 required)
- CORU registration (Social Care Workers Registration Board) – candidates must be fully registered or actively progressing through the registration process
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (residential or community setting desirable)
- Strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, and child protection
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleepover shifts
Full clean driving licence (desirable)
