Social Care Worker

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Social Care Worker to join a supportive team delivering high-quality, person-centred care. This role involves providing direct support to individuals, contributing to care planning, and assisting with shift leadership responsibilities in a residential/support service setting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting independence, dignity, wellbeing, and community participation for the individuals supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred care and support tailored to individual needs
  • Promote independence, inclusion, dignity, and choice
  • Support individuals with daily living activities and social/community engagement
  • Act as a Key Worker and contribute to Personal Plans and reviews
  • Lead shifts and support colleagues when required
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and HIQA standards are maintained
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and support positive outcomes
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Essential Requirements

  • Level 7 Degree in Social Care or equivalent qualification
  • CORU registration (or eligibility for registration)
  • Full clean Irish driving licence
  • Legal right to work in Ireland
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience Required

  • Experience working in social care, disability, residential, or community-based services
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex or additional needs
  • Understanding of person-centred approaches and safeguarding practices

Desirable

  • Previous shift leadership or mentoring experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIQA standards and regulations
  • Experience with care planning and report writing
