Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Speech and Language Therapist on behalf of an Adult Physical and Sensory Disability Team in Dundalk. This one-year contract offers the chance to deliver person-centred, evidence-based care while contributing your senior clinical insight to a collaborative multidisciplinary service.
The successful candidate will bring confident adult dysphagia assessment and management skills, alongside strong expertise in communication support for adults with physical and sensory disabilities.
The Role:
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will assess, diagnose and manage communication and dysphagia needs across a varied adult caseload. You will work closely with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues to develop practical plans that support safety, independence, participation and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive assessments of adults with communication and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
- Develop and deliver individualised, evidence-based intervention and management plans.
- Provide specialist dysphagia assessment, recommendations and risk-management guidance.
- Work collaboratively within the Adult Physical and Sensory Disability Team and wider multidisciplinary network.
- Support informed decision-making with service users, families and carers.
- Provide education, training and clinical guidance to colleagues and support networks.
- Maintain clear clinical records and contribute to service quality, governance and development.
- Participate in supervision, continuing professional development and relevant team initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Current CORU registration as a Speech and Language Therapist, or eligibility to register.
- Demonstrable adult dysphagia experience is essential.
- Relevant clinical experience supporting adults with physical and sensory disabilities or comparable complex needs.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with appropriate autonomy at senior level.
- A full driving licence and access to transport, where required for service delivery.
