Excel Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Psychologist on behalf of a Child Primary Care team, with the role based in Monaghan or Cavan Town.
This Child Primary Care team is at the heart of early intervention, delivering compassionate, evidence-based psychological assessment and intervention to children and young people in an inclusive, family centred environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a welcoming multidisciplinary service in a senior clinical role, combining a specialist caseload with supervision, consultation, service development and support for colleagues. You will help strengthen high-quality, timely psychological care for children, young people and their families across the local community.
As a Senior Psychologist, you will:
- Provide senior clinical expertise within a child centred Primary Care service, working collaboratively with children, young people and their families.
- Manage a varied and complex caseload, undertaking specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and review.
- Deliver evidence-based individual, family and group interventions appropriate to children and young people presenting in Primary Care.
- Provide clinical consultation, advice and support to colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Offer supervision and professional support to psychologists, trainees and other team members, as appropriate.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions, care planning, interagency working and effective referral pathways.
- Support service development, quality improvement, audit and evaluation initiatives to enhance access and outcomes.
- Promote psychologically informed practice through training, psychoeducation and consultation with families and relevant professionals.
- Maintain high-quality clinical records and practise in accordance with professional, ethical and organisational standards.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A Doctorate or equivalent qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
- Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or another relevant professional body.
- A minimum of five years' post-qualification experience as a Psychologist, including at least two years' experience working at Senior Psychologist level or an equivalent grade.
- Demonstrable experience in the Psychological assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence-based interventions for children and young people within Primary Care or a comparable child and family service.
- A strong understanding of children's Primary Care presentations, developmental needs, care pathways, safeguarding considerations and multidisciplinary working.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise professionally with children, young people, parents, families, carers and other healthcare and education professionals.
