Person in Charge – Nurse-Led Units - Sligo

Are you an experienced nurse leader looking for the next step in your career?

We are recruiting a Person in Charge (PIC) for one of our expanding nurse-led services supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities across Co. Sligo.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing organization and lead a high-quality, person-centered service with strong multidisciplinary support.

About the Role

As Person in Charge, you will:

  • Lead and manage the effective delivery of our nurse-led services.
  • Ensure full compliance with HIQA Standards and Department of Health Regulations.
  • Work autonomously while promoting a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and leadership to the care team.
  • Support service users through high-quality, person-centred care and robust care planning.
  • Oversee documentation, reporting, audits, and quality assurance processes.
  • Play a key role in training, development, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required.

Essential Criteria

To be considered, you must have:

  • Level 7 Degree in Nursing and active NMBI registration.
  • Minimum 3 years’ management or supervisory experience in health or social care.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities (highly desirable).
  • Level 6 Management qualification (or willingness to complete—supported by the company).
  • Proven experience managing services to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
