Job Title: MRI Clinical Specialist Radiographer

Location: Cork

Job type: Permanent role, 37.5 hrs, option to work three days per week.

Salary: Highly competitive and generous salary package, dependent on years of experience.

Excel Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Clinical Specialist MRI Radiographer to join a leading radiology service in Cork.

As a Clinical Specialist MRI Radiographer, you'll join a highly skilled team in a state-of-the-art outpatient imaging environment, working with advanced technology across six scanners while delivering excellent diagnostic imaging and patient care.

Scanner profile includes:

  • 2 GE MRI scanners: 1.5T GE Optima 450w and 3T Discovery 750w.
  • 2 Siemens MRI scanners: 1.5T Siemens Sola and 1.5T Siemens Avanto.
  • 1 GE PET-CT scanner: GE Discovery MI.
  • 1 GE DEXA scanner: GE Lunar.

This is a superb opportunity for a highly skilled MRI Radiographer who is technically strong, quality-focused, and ready to guide an established team.

The successful candidate:

  • This is a Clinical Specialist MRI role offering both advanced clinical practice and team leadership.
  • You will deliver high-quality MRI imaging while supporting service standards, workflow, and team development.
  • You will work closely with radiographers, radiologists, nursing teams, and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver an efficient, safe, and patient-centred MRI service.
  • You will contribute to clinical governance, protocol optimisation, quality improvement, and the ongoing development of best practice within MRI.
  • You will play a key role in ensuring patients receive safe, compassionate, and technically excellent care at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high-quality MRI service across a broad range of examinations, ensuring excellent clinical and technical standards.
  • Lead, guide, and support the MRI team, promoting best practice, professional development, and a strong patient-first culture.
  • Contribute to MRI protocol development, clinical audit, quality assurance, and continuous service improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, radiographers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure an efficient and safe service.
  • Maintain excellent standards of patient care, communication, safety, and professionalism at all times.

Key Requirements:

  • CORU Registration Essential
  • Significant post-registration experience within MRI, including musculoskeletal and body imaging
  • Previous leadership experience is essential.
  • Recognised postgraduate qualification in MRI or 4+ years' experience in MRI within a large hospital setting.
  • Experience working on GE and Siemens MRI scanners
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent Clinical governess awareness in relation to patient care
  • A strong focus on prioritising a high standard of patient care at all times,
