We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Consultant Gastroenterologist & General Physician to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality acute and elective care services.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist Gastroenterology services across inpatient, outpatient, and endoscopy settings.
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures in line with service requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality General Internal Medicine (GIM) care for acute and complex medical patients.
  • Participate in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, specialist nurses, and allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and expansion of Gastroenterology and endoscopy services.
  • Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
  • Provide teaching, training, and supervision to junior doctors, medical students, and multidisciplinary team members.


Requirements

  • Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.
  • Experience in managing a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders and performing endoscopic procedures.
  • Strong General Internal Medicine experience.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care, education, and continuous service improvement.

  • The current Consultant salary scale ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid separately.
