We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Consultant Anaesthesiologist to join a busy multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive anaesthetic, perioperative, and critical care services.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality anaesthetic care across a broad range of surgical specialties, including elective and emergency procedures.
  • Deliver perioperative assessment, optimisation, and management of surgical patients.
  • Participate in the provision of emergency anaesthesia, trauma care, and resuscitation services.
  • Contribute to critical care, acute pain management, and perioperative medicine services, depending on departmental requirements.
  • Participate in the consultant on-call rota.
  • Work collaboratively with surgeons, intensivists, emergency medicine physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
  • Support the development of patient safety, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in teaching, training, and supervision of junior doctors, medical students, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Contribute to service planning and the ongoing development of anaesthesia and perioperative care services.


Requirements

  • Specialist registration (or eligibility for specialist registration) in Anaesthesiology.
  • Experience delivering anaesthetic care across a wide range of surgical specialties.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to patient safety, education, and continuous service improvement.
