Your Role as a Theatre Nurse – Scrub<ul>
<li>Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary equipment is available before surgery.</li><li>Maintain a sterile environment throughout procedures and assist the surgical team.</li><li>Pass instruments to the surgeon and provide essential support during operations.</li><li>Carry out swab and instrument checks in line with hospital policies.</li><li>Ensure a smooth patient transition with pre/post-operation handovers.</li><li>Maintain stock levels and adhere to strict safety protocols, including the World Health Organisation’s ‘Safe Surgical Checklist’.</li></ul>
What You’ll Need<ul>
<li>Recognised nursing degree.</li><li>Current licensure as a registered nurse with the Nurse and Midwifery Council of Malta (or willingness to obtain it).</li><li>Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, nursing care methods, and emergency care.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.</li><li>Good time management, organisational skills, and a professional attitude.</li><li>Computer literacy is essential.</li></ul>
