We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.
We employ over 4,000 dedicated members of staff who deliver services from more than 90 locations, working in approximately 150 teams across a geographical region of 2,200 miles, for a population of approximately 1.8million people.
We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery. Our staff are pivotal in everything we do and we are committed to involving them fully in the development of the Trust and our services.
The community mental health and substance misuse team within Ashfield / Leyhill prisons forms part of the wider criminal justice services within AWP.
Our services are nationally recognised as leaders within this area and we are looking to further develop our services in line with AWP and the wider criminal justice agenda.
AWP provides a community mental health and substance misuse service into these prisons. We are based within the prisons and our team provides assessments, interventions and facilitates continuity of care on transfer / release for individuals with diverse and complex mental health and / or substance misuse issues .
The service has strong commitment to innovation and service development and works closely with our stakeholders in both health and criminal justice
We are looking for a team leader who will be committed to developing the community mental health / substance misuse team within the prison in line with the AWP mainstream agenda.
We aspire to ensure our clients receive services equivalent to those they can access in the community within the confines of the prison estate; this brings with it unique challenges and as such you need to be able to innovate and have sound leadership and sophisticated communication skills.
You will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise as the team work with a complex and diverse demographic in a challenging but rewarding environment
Applications are welcome from RMNs, mental health / substance misuse social workers or OTs with experience in these fields
