We are currently looking to recruit Oncology Nurses to work within the outpatient department of the hospital. Within the outpatient department patients come in as day patients for stem cell donation, apheresis and outpatient chemotherapy. The shit pattern for this role is Monday to Friday.
Reporting into the ward manager as an Oncology Nurse you will be responsible for planning and delivering appropriate care to patients using the Roper Logan and Tierney model. Part of your role will involve adopting a holistic and pro-active approach to patients with oncological/haematology care needs. As an Oncology Nurse you will also work administering chemotherapy and other anti-cancer treatments. You will comply and promote infection control standards and co-ordinate with other team members to ensure patients to be rescheduled and booked according to procedure. Maintaining a safe environment for patients under your care will be part of your daily responsibilities along with any other ad hoc duties required by senior members of staff. Skills Required:
To be considered for this role as an Oncology Nurse you will have at least 1-year experience working in Oncology/Haematology setting. You will have experience of administering cytotoxic drugs and have the relevant qualification to do so. You will be required to keep up to date with current practice in this field. In this role you will be working as a part of a close-knit team so excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills are required. Working in this field of nursing requires you to be a caring and compassionate nurse with good attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. Benefits to include:
