Staff Nurse – Surgery - Band 5 Up to £29.6k + Excellent NHS Benefits
Staff Nurses are required to work in our Anaesthetics, Surgery, Critical Care and Renal Division, the largest Division at North Bristol Trust. There are a wide range of specialties within this division which include Vascular, General Surgery, Urology, Burns and Plastics, our Surgical Admissions Unit and Renal Transplantation Centre. You will be based at our state-of-the art £450m Southmead Hospital with a basic salary of between £22.1k and £28.7k (AFC Band 5) – depending on experience.

THE ROLE – As a Staff Nurse, you will play a key role within a team of nursing staff in the delivery of evidence based patient-centered care, which is of a high standard. Key duties will include:
• Working with patients who have attended for trauma, emergency or elective status
• Being responsible for dressings wound care in all units
• Working closely with members of the multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists
• Caring for all patients during their stay within ASCR pre and post operatively including any rehabilitation they may require.
• Being part of the preoperative assessments and outpatient’s clinic
• Caring for emergency patients admitted under the care of all surgical specialities
• Providing additional support to other areas within the ASCR division as and when required
