Director of Nursing - state-of-the-art Sligo nursing home
Our clients state of the art Nursing Home is looking to recruit a Director of Nursing.
The Director of Nursing will be supported by and be a key part of a comprehensive and dynamic management team. There is an excellent salary and benefits package on offer in addition to a full induction programme with a commitment to support continuous training and development.
The Nursing home will offer services and comforts that exceed industry norms through professional care whilst offering the best quality of life for each of our residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of residential care for residents and any specialist care that may be required. This Centre will be designed specifically for the needs of elderly residents with a wide spectrum of needs.
Roles and Responsibilities-
Ensure that the provision of a high standard of care to our residents and families is consistent with our mission statement, vision, values and strategic plan.
Ensure that the role and responsibilities of the Director of Nursing are carried out in accordance with the Health Act 2007, regulations and standards as published by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA).
The successful candidate will be required to provide and manage professional and nursing care to our residents whilst actively contributing to the development of the centre and its staff.
The successful candidate will have a significant involvement in liaising with HIQA in the registration process and to ensure that we will comply with all set criteria and standards for registration.
Have oversight for the recruitment and training needs of all staff The successful candidate will work closely and lead the team to ensure provision of best practice, person centered care in line with HIQA regulations.
He/she must also effectively manage all available resources within the allocated budget.
Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Responsible for all aspects of risk management.
Oversee the delivery of resident care together with all members of the multidisciplinary teams.
Development and oversight of a rigorous and comprehensive clinical governance programme.
The successful applicant must be a registered nurse (on the live register of nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, NMBI).
Must have (within the last 6 years) a minimum 3 years' relevant experience, caring for the older person.
Must have a post registration management qualification in the health or related field.
Evidence of continuous professional development in the last 2 years.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, relatives/visitors, employees, management and external bodies e.g. GPs, Hospitals, HSE, HIQA etc.
