Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNSp) – Community Palliative Care Team (CPCT)

We have the following positions available:

· 0.5 WTE (19.5 hours) Specified Purpose contract (approx. 12 month) based in Blackrock

· 0.5 WTE (19.5 hours) Permanent contract based in Blackrock OR

· 1.0WTE (39 hours) Specified Purpose contract (approx. 12 months) based in Blackrock

· 1.0WTE (39 hours) Specified Purpose contract (approx. 12 months) based in Harold’s Cross

Opportunities are now available to Registered General Nurses, with specialist palliative care knowledge, skills and qualifications, who wish to develop their career to that of Clinical Nurse Specialist in palliative care (CNSp). There are three whole-time positions – one indefinite duration and two are specified purpose, meaning that they are temporary positions to cover maternity leave / career break for approximately one year.

The successful candidates will join the established Community Palliative Care Team (CPCT) and develop as an expert practitioner in the delivery of comprehensive person-centred palliative care. The option to work / rotate to the Out-Patients clinic setting, may be included within the remit of the CNSp.

A panel will be formed for future vacancies in Blackrock / Harold’s Cross CPCT.

Essential Requirements

· Registered General Nurse with NMBI

· Hold a relevant (minimum level 8) post-graduate qualification in Palliative Care

· Five years post registration experience

· Two years recent experience in Specialist Palliative Care.

· Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development

· Car owner with a full driver’s licence
