Person in Charge, Intellectual Disability Service, Longford
35 hours per week
The Person In Charge will co-ordinate and lead in the implementation and provision of quality care and support that meets HIQA National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities 2013 and in compliance with the Health Act 2007 as amended 2013 (Registration of Designated Centres for Persons (Children and Adults) with Disabilities) Regulations, and Health Act 2007 (Care and Support of Residents in Designated Centres for Persons (Children and Adults) with Disabilities) Regulations 2013, which is consistent with the organisation's ethos and values, in a safe, respectful, empathetic and person-centred manner that promotes inclusion in community life.
As the Person in Charge he/she will:
Have an in-depth knowledge of HIQA standards and the regulations underpinning the standards as they apply to the Intellectual Disability service.
Have the responsibility for ensuring standards are adhered to.
Manage resources and lead the team
Function as a role model and promote best practice in the delivery of care and support
Encourage a culture of openness and participation through effective communication.
Possess a BA (Ord) in Social Care Practice (Level 7 on the QQI framework) Or be registered in the Intellectual Division of the NMBI
Hold an appropriate management qualification in health or social care management.
A minimum of 3 years experience in a management or supervisory role in health or social care.
Full clean driving licence and willingness to drive as part of role is essential.
