Poplar ward is a 15 bedded mixed sex short stay surgical ward, with surgical elective admission unit, caring for patients from all surgical specialities. The patient turn over is very fast paced, and you need to be able to adapt to the changing work load while ensuring the delivery of compassionate and high quality care.
We are looking for individuals with and interest in surgical nursing who are dedicated and committed, and have the ability to be part of a team of nursing staff providing pre and post-operative care to our patients in a safe environment. If you possess good organisational and interpersonal skills, have the ability to prioritise patient care in a busy environment, and have an interest in helping us develop the service we provide then please apply.
All successful candidates will be mentored and will be supported in their position having the opportunity to further their academic career by being put forward for the surgical and mentoring courses. You will be supported by the Practice Development Nurse and the Matron for Surgery.
