Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated paediatric research nurse to join our dynamic research nursing team within haematology/oncology. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who is willing to learn and gain expertise in clinical research and this exciting area of medicine.
 
Great Ormond Street Hospital in partnership with the UCL Institute of Child Health forms the largest centre of academic paediatric haematology/oncology in the UK and one of the largest in the world. The department has a large and active programme of translational and clinical research, which covers basic mechanisms, development of novel therapeutics, and first in child clinical studies. The majority of children within the clinical unit undergo their primary treatment enrolled onto phase 3 trials. Increasingly, at relapse patients can choose from a range of phase 2 and phase 1 trial's of novel approaches to therapy. The early trials portfolio includes both industry sponsored phase 1 and 2 studies of new agents for the relapse setting, and academic sponsored trials, many of which are developed in and run from GOSH. The latter include gene and cell therapy trials including gene-modified T cell trials.
 
As one of the Band 6 research nurses based in the trust, you will work alongside the band 7 research nurses leading and coordinating the delivery of the speciality portfolios. Working clinically with the team you will promote high standards of both patient care and research practice.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated paediatric nurse with haematology/oncology experience. You must have effective organizational skills and be looking for a new and exciting challenge. You should demonstrate the ability to manage your own workload and to work as part of a team. This post offers excellent opportunities in gaining research experience with flexible working hours with the opportunity to maintain your clinical skills, while being supported by an experienced team of research nurses.
 
The core working hours will be between 08.00-18.00 hours.
