Band 5, Staff Nurse, Cardiology 37.5 hours (part time positions also available)
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic staff nurse to join our wonderful team within cardiology at Barts Heart Centre.
3D is a 29 bedded Cardiology ward within the Bart’s Heart Centre (BHC). Our patients are admitted via our Heart Attack Centre (HAC) with an acute MI where they undergo emergency coronary angioplasty. We also manage patients admitted from other hospitals with Acute Coronary Syndrome that require coronary angiogram/ angioplasty and patient’s admitted electively from home that include EP procedures such as simple and complex ablations, device implants and lead repositions. We also care for patients admitted electively for structural heart procedures such as PFO, and ASD closures. Patients are cared for pre and post procedure on the ward and some are discharged autonomously using nurse led discharge.
Ward 3D is closely affiliated with the catheter laboratories where our patients have their procedures. The catheter laboratory is the largest and busiest specialized cardiac center in Europe and patients have a range of procedures there.
The post will provide an excellent opportunity to work in a specialized area and to develop further cardiology nursing skills and expand your knowledge through specialist courses. You will be supported by the senior nursing structure in both professional and educational development, as we value and prioritize the importance of the above.
