Cardiac Screening

Onsite Doctor Led Cardiac Screening service that is ultimately aimed at reducing the incidence of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS)

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Personal & Family History Questionnaire

This questionnaire is designed to find out if you have a family history of cardiac disease. It will also help us identify any symptoms that may be of concern.

1. Physical Examination with a Medical Doctor

A thorough clinical examination will be performed by the doctor, paying particular attention to and entering information into the software:

• Family history of sudden cardiac death and any symptoms that could lead to concern.
• Waist Circumference assesses the amount of fat in the abdominal region.
• Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height & weight.
• Blood Pressure Recording. This shows the amount of work your heart has to do to pump blood around the body.
• Listening to the heart for murmurs or an irregular heart rhythm.
• Heart rate.
• Stigmata of Marfans syndrome.
