The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King’s College Hospital (KCH) site in Camberwell and the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in Bromley.
King’s College Hospital has a large Therapy department with over 200 therapists from Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Each service is organised under a Head of Profession with a Chief of Therapies heading up the service and representing Therapies across the Trust. The department has a well established tradition of supervision and appraisal which ensures all staff are given the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge and to reach their full potential.
The Hand Therapy Outpatients Department is based across Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust sites. You will join an enthusiastic and dedicated team, which includes Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and friendly learning environment.
Due to the continued development of this department, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist/ Physiotherapist to work in the Hand Therapy department. The role may require some cross site working at Denmark Hill and Beckenham Beacon, to help meet the demands of the service.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential to facilitate the management of plastic surgery, orthopaedic and rheumatologic hand conditions. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical, teaching, managerial and research skills. You will also play an important role in the department’s service development programme. There is a well-structured in-service program, an established journal club and weekly meetings with the Orthopaedic Consultants. There are also regular opportunities to apply for funding if you wish to attend any courses.
