Band 6 Occupational Therapy Rotation – Whipps Cross Hospital


Develop your clinical skills with complex co-morbidity in a friendly supportive environment!


Are you an experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist looking for the next challenge or Band 6 Occupational Therapist keen to develop clinical & leadership skills across wide and varied settings? Our Whipps Cross Hospital Band 6 rotation provides the perfect opportunity for you.

Professional OT support and development is provided from the on-site OT Clinical Lead (Band 8a) in conjunction with the OT/PT Clinical Lead. We provide a Trust wide Band 6 Evidence-Based Practice Programme and regular site-based in-service training. This training and support is overseen by our Trust-wide OT professional lead (Band 8b).

The rotations at Whipps Cross University Hospital provide a fantastic opportunity to develop and consolidate skills in the following settings:
    • Hand Therapy
    • Acute Stroke Unit
    • Community Stroke Team
    • Orthopaedics
    • Surgery
    • Medicine and Palliative Care
    • Older People Services / Care of the Elderly
    • Emergency Therapy Team

The service operates a seven day service covering core hours between 8am and 6pm. You will need to be a versatile, adaptable team player who is prepared to work across a 7 day rota.

The occupational therapy service has a supportive education program and robust personal development program to support staff in their learning and development.

There is a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement with support for training at Master’s level.
