Band 7 Occupational Therapist, 18 Months Fixed Term - Cancer Inpatient Services
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust has embarked upon a comprehensive cancer strategy that will shape the future of services for the next generation of patients. We strive to be a world class cancer service, delivering internationally distinctive services that are patient centred, research driven and clinically led. Our staff are at the centre of achieving the vision for 'Guy's Cancer' and therefore we are looking for an enthusiastic and talented, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to join us at this exciting time and to be part of the multi-disciplinary team aimed at improving the supportive and rehabilitation care offered to patients.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver a new innovative inpatient cancer rehabilitation project in partnership with Guy's Charity working as an integral member of the cancer therapy team at Guy's and St Thomas' hospital. This highly specialist team will consist of 1 WTE B7 Physiotherapist, 1 WTE B7 Occupational Therapist and 1 WTE Band 4 Therapy assistant. The project aims to provide early specialist cancer rehabilitation to cancer patients with complex oncological or haematological presentations in the acute setting in order to improve functional outcomes, quality of life and patient experience through enhancing patient centred care and management of active rehabilitation. The post holders will be supported by dedicated clinical specialists in Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Nursing and Project support team to facilitate the project, collate data, and produce evidence that will help shape cancer rehabilitation guidance for patients with complex rehabilitation presentations.
Closing date: 19th June 2019 at midnight
Interviews will be held in week starting 1st July 2019 at Guy's Hospital.
