The Pharmacy Department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ambitious and forward thinking, striving to ensure that the patient is always at the heart of everything we do.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the role of Lead Pharmacist for Surgery due to promotion of the current post holder.
We are looking for a highly motivated and forward thinking individual who wishes to take this opportunity to progress not only their career but the service we provide to surgical patients within the Trust.
You will provide leadership for the pharmacy clinical services across surgery and Division A ensuring high level engagement and continued improvement as well as providing a specialist clinical commitment to surgical patients
In addition you will manage the Directorate level Lead/Advanced Pharmacists and support them to deliver a clinically safe and effective service to our patients.
You will be expected to engage with the wider Division A team (e.g. Transformation teams , Operations Managers, Divisional Quality Managers, Lead Clinicians and Nurses) and represent Pharmacy at Divisional level meetings.
The successful candidate will support and deputise for the Deputy Clinical Pharmacy Services Manager when required. This will include cooperating on aspects of the Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation strategy and the Pharmacy Transformation Plan.
CUH has a well-developed and respected clinical service including; independent pharmacist prescribers to respond dynamically to the needs of the hospital and its patients, wide ranging specialist roles, support for flagship pathways such as frail elderly, extended services to ED and emerging and established roles in clinics and biologics. We have a high level of commitment to staff development and actively encourage all staff to share their expertise widely to enhance the profile of the department.
You must demonstrate excellent leadership skills and be resilient. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills are also essential.
This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £47.50. This fee will be deducted from your second month's salary.
