We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.
We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.
We are a multi-award winning trust and are included within the Health Service Journal's Best 100 Places to Work. The trust take a positive and proactive approach to support staff in their personal development and has embedded the Talent Management approach within the Trust, with the vision of helping people to be as good as they can be, helping TEWV to do things better.

Are you keen to develop your dietetic career by gaining valuable experience in a range of mental health, eating disorders and learning disabilities services? We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our team of dietitians working within a specialist mental health and learning disabilities NHS Foundation Trust.

This new and exciting post offers the opportunity to work as part of several multidisciplinary teams delivering mental health and learning disabilities services in the Teesside, Durham and Darlington areas. The successful postholder will fill vacant posts on a "floating basis" covering recruitment gaps, annual leave and other staff absences. This will provide a unique opportunity for the post holder to gain valuable experience in a range of dietetic specialties and would be an excellent developmental opportunity for a dietitian who wishes to progress into a senior management position within the organisation. The post holder will also have the opportunity to be involved with policy development, audit, research, quality improvement activities, staff and student training.

The Dietetic Team in the Trust is the largest and most established dietetic team in mental health and learning disabilities in the UK and has excellent links with the Mental Health Specialist Group of the BDA. We are a dynamic team of 29 dietitians, 3 Associate Practitioners, 4 Dietetic Assistants and a Project Officer for Weight Management working in a number of clinical areas throughout Teesside, Darlington, County Durham, North Yorkshire, York and Selby. We have several experienced Clinical Lead Dietitians in the clinical areas of adult eating disorders, adult mental health, children and young people, forensics and older people. This post would support all of these dietetic specialities on a rotational basis.

Candidates should be a Registered Dietitian with substantial clinical experience in Dietetics, including significant experience working with service users with mental illness or learning disabilities and complex needs. They should have experience in participating in service development and supervision of staff plus substantial experience of designing and delivering training.

Candidates should hold a M.Sc. in a health-related subject (or be willing to undertake within agreed timescale agreed at interview). In addition, they should have completed/be willing to complete the Trust QIS (Quality Improvement System) for Leaders course.
