5PA Consultant Histopathologist with Special Interest in Liver Pathology
We welcome applications for a substantive Consultant Histopathologist to join a dynamic team in the Liver Histopathology laboratory, Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital, London. This is a new 0.5 whole time equivalent post. The histopathology consultants provide histological and cytological reporting for King’s College Hospital’s adult and paediatric liver and liver transplant services, paediatric bowel transplantation service, paediatric gastroenterology service and the hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) service. A sub-specialised rota operates in the laboratory and the successful applicant will be participating in the adult liver rota, predominantly to support primary reporting of external medical liver biopsy referrals that form part of SLA agreements held with other Trusts in the UK. The laboratory operates a high frequency 1:4.5 on call rota to provide donor assessment support for the liver transplant programme and the successful participant would be expected to contribute to weekend on call activity. Appropriate reporting support will be provided where applicants do not have previous reporting experience in the sub-specialties.
