Are you interested in a career in the field of eating disorders? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Dietitian to join our innovate service which supports young people and their families in the management of and recovery from Eating Disorders.
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 CAMHS Eating Disorders Specialist Dietitian into our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team. The post holder will work alongside the Clinical Lead Dietitian and Specialist Dietitian who currently provide input to the North Yorkshire and York Eating Disorders Service. In addition to the wide range of clinical duties the post holder will have the opportunity to participate in policy development, audit, research activities, pathway development, staff and student training.
The Eating Disorder Service is currently a Hub and Spoke model; the post holder will be based in the York Hub with the multidisciplinary Eating Disorders Team. This Team also provides a service one day a week to Scarborough; therefore it is an essential requirement for the post holder to travel independently across the locality.
The successful post holder will also be part of the Trust's Dietetic Team which is the largest and most established Dietetic team in mental health and learning disabilities in the UK and has excellent links with the Mental Health Specialist Group of the BDA. We are a dynamic team of 29 Dietitians, 3 Associate Practitioners, 4 Dietetic Assistants and a Trainee Nutritionist working in a number of clinical areas throughout Teeside, Darlington, County Durham, North Yorkshire, York and Selby. We have several experienced Clinical Lead Dietitians in the clinical areas of adult eating disorders, adult mental health, children and young people, forensics and older people.
Candidates should be a registered Dietitian with significant experience in Dietetics, including experience working with service users with mental illness and/ or learning disabilities and complex needs, preferably eating disorders. They should have excellent communication and IT skills. A working knowledge of motivational interviewing would be desirable. Supervision will be provided by the Clinical Lead Dietitian for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Eating Disorders and there will be a strong emphasis on Continued Professional Development and specialist training
