Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust
(AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.
We employ over 4,000 dedicated members of staff who deliver services from more than 90 locations, working in approximately 150 teams across a geographical region of 2,200 miles, for a population of approximately 1.8million people.
We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery. Our staff are pivotal in everything we do and we are committed to involving them fully in the development of the Trust and our services.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a part time Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist to join a highly functioning team based within a major teaching hospital in the centre of Bristol.
The team is joint funded by AWP and University Hospitals Bristol (UHB) and is a PLAN accredited team based in Bristol Royal Infirmary, part of UHB, a trust recently awarded an Outstanding CQC report.
AWP is a large mental health Trust, with an emphasis on service improvement and innovation. We aspire to provide the best possible care in the right place, at the right time, to help our service-users recover and to live their best possible lives.
Bristol Mental Health Services are dynamic and continually transforming to meet the needs of the growing city population. Mental health care in Bristol is nationally recognised as innovative, clinically led, and user focused.
Both Trusts have close teaching and research relationships with the Universities of Bristol, and the West of England.
Being employed by the largest mental health trust in the area offers unprecedented access to training, support and partnership with the wider mental health community.
