The Gynaecology service at Whipps Cross Hospital requires one medical secretary/PPC to join their busy team. The successful candidate needs to have a solid background of medical typing, understand patient pathways and be able to work to tight deadlines. This a fulltime position 37.5 hours per week.
The post holder will be responsible for providing a high standard of secretarial support to the Gynaecology Service and you will be participating in process reviews as part of service developments and service performance. The successful candidate will be versed in RTT policies and procedures, have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and have the ability to multitask and prioritise their work load. This post will be playing an important role in the coordinating of patients through their clinical pathway by ensuring that the administrative processes and information are efficient, effective and in line with NHS referral to treatment (RTT) standards. You will also need to be able to type clinic letters.
You will be expected to work together with all teams to provide high quality care for patients within the cancer services. Therefore the ability to forge close working relationships with hospital administration staff, clinical staff and other colleagues is essential to the post. A working knowledge of excel and other Microsoft programme are essential as is the experience of electronic patient record / information systems and previous experience in a Secretarial role or administration role with letter typing as a key function.
