Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in General Paediatrics.
There is potentially a vacancy available immediately. The post is initially for six months but may be extendable. We are flexible with start dates and there will be further vacancies available from September 2019 and we are keen to proactively recruit in advance. The post is advertised as full-time but we welcome part-time applicants.
The post is based at the Evelina London Children's Hospital at Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.
The postholder will gain Complex General Paediatric experience which includes exposure to sub-specialities such as Gastroenterology, Respiratory, Haematology, Endocrine and High Dependency Care. On-call duties are shared at middle grade level within general paediatrics and include cover of high dependency care, paediatric sub-speciality patients and paediatric surgical patients. This post is not recognised for training by the RCPCH but the training opportunities available are similar to those for ST6-8 with an associated study leave budget and educational supervision. There are many opportunities to be involved quality improvement and education work and the post-holder will be fully supported by an educational supervisor.
The post holder will be part of a team of 5 registrar-grade doctors in general paediatrics, and will contribute to the team of 20 middle-grade doctors participating in the out-of-hours work. Duties are worked on a full shift system. Previous middle-grade experience is essential; applicants must have completed at least 2 years' ST1-3-level paediatrics or equivalent, including 6 months of neonatology.Closing date: 08/10/208 MidnightInterview: TBC
