The Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trusts Clinical Coding Department is a part of the Health Informatics Directorate, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The Clinical Coding Department also works closely with the individual Clinical Directorates, the Medical Director’s office and the Finance Directorate. Health Informatics is responsible for all Trust management information, reporting both externally and internally.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the vibrant, expanding clinical coding team at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Banding is subject to ACC Qualification.
You will be responsible for the abstraction of clinical data from patient records and translating it into diagnostic and procedure coding classifications. You should be able to demonstrate competence in the use of ICD10 and OPCS 4.8 classifications, coding rules and application of national clinical coding standards across acute specialties is a prerequisite. Proven NHS coding experience required. Candidates should have completed the National Clinical Coding Standards Course, previously known as the Clinical Coding Foundation Course. Flexible working arrangements such as working from home are available.
We are looking for trained clinical coders only at this stage. If you are not a trained clinical coder please apply for the other trainee coder positions that will be advertised separately.
