Locum Consultants in Histopathology with a special interest in Gynaecological Pathology.
From £77,913 pa. excl. LZ
Full Time-10 PAs
Fixed term- 3 months

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is made up of two of London's best known teaching hospitals and employs over 12,500 staff and over 1 million patient contacts a year.

As part of the continuing plan to develop the specialised histopathology service and to support the expansion of the gynaecological tertiary referral services at the Trust, we are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant in Histopathology with a specialist interest in gynaecological pathology. The successful applicant would be expected to offer a second specialist interest as a lesser component of the post, with a preference for diagnostic cytopathology, but other specialist interests would also be considered.

The Department is a training centre for SpRs and SHOs, and is involved in medical and dental student education within King's College London School of Medicine.

We are involved in many exciting initiatives and are looking for an individual with appropriate skills to complement our team and keep the service at the forefront of clinical and academic excellence. Cellular Pathology is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory (no.9323), accredited to Apply.

You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold License to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.

The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0-18 years) and therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal convictions.

You may be required to work a shift pattern designed to provide cover for 24 hours a day or extended working day over a seven day week.Your hours of work will be as detailed in your job plan and may be varied from time to time in accordance with the Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions.
